On Saturday, April 6, Jay and Julie Seitz will host our club at their home for this event. This is a day-long, drop-in to socialize with other owners, clean-up your car for spring and grill out!

The hosts will supply the place, hoses, some chairs, inside shop for waxing/buffing, Coca-Cola beverages, including bottled water, grills and some BBQ for sharing.

What you should bring:

• Car washing supplies
• Your favorite adult beverage.

RoadtwisterZ (run by Steve Mimbs) is a sibling BMW Z group. They are hosting a Spring Drive in Franklin, NC Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. Steve always finds great roads and runs a top notch drive.

We're working with the GM at United BMW of Roswell to set up an event to welcome the new 2019 (G29) Z4 M40i at the dealership at the end of April. Our goal is to show up with as many Zs as possible to show everyone how excited we are about our BMW Z-Series cars and the newest addition to the Z family. We'll publish event details after we get things worked out, but the general plan is to have:

• Designated Z-only parking area for us
• We'd like to have a collection of different Z models to surround the G29 Z4. Some combination of Z3's (Roadster/Coupe/M), E85 Z4's (Roadster/Coupe/M), E89 Z4's (Roadster/Coupe/M).
• Tentatively - BMW giveaways
• Tentatively - BMW to provide breakfast food

As time gets a little closer, I'll be soliciting a list of those who would be interested in spiffing up their Zs for one of the "escort" spots surrounding the G29 Z4. Depending on responses, the decision as to which Z's occupy those spots may come down to coin tosses, dice rolls, or executive decision. ;-)

Greg & Linda Paul are in the preliminary planning stage for a 3 week Z drive to Newfoundland in June 2019 with a few days at ZFEST 2019 on the return leg. Tentative dates are June 9 through June 30 (as dictated by ferry crossing schedules, etc). At this stage of planning, they need to get an idea of how many folks would be interested. They need 5 - 10 commitments (cars) to make this epic adventure a "Go!".

This isn't the Paul's first organized drive to Nova Scotia/Newfoundland. They are veterans. Their trips are really well planned and executed with every detail including ferry crossings and some really cool lodging accommodations. Alycia and I had the pleasure of traveling with them to Newfoundland in 2015 and we had a blast!

ZFEST 2019 will be held in Blacksburg, Virginia. The host hotel (The Inn at Virginia Tech) has already booked all of the initially reserved rooms but as of June 14, 2018, there were still a few rooms left at $179/night with 5 night minimum stay. Note that we have extended the dates to run from Thursday afternoon through Sunday this year. Since this is our 20th fall drive, we're cooking up something a little bigger this year. We'll be sending out information when we get things worked out.
