February, 1 2014 (for those sports fans, the day BEFORE Super Bowl) I’ll be one state closer to home, but why go the extra two hours when I can meet up with all of the excellent Atlanta people? I feel like there should be a Peachtree BMW event, since just about every other chapter across the southern reaches of the country get to meet the Shark and I. So, come one, come all. I’ll also be accepting any donations anybody would like to make to the BMW CCA Foundation and will perhaps have a few “goodies” to give away that are left over from the car show. Nikki will be passing through Atlanta on her way back home from her whirlwind cross-country adventure. Let's show her some of Atlanta's charm and southern hospitality. Sunday, February 2nd, we will meet Nikki and escort her through Georgia's back roads on her way north into South Carolina. Come out for the 2nd annual BMW Roadster "Clean 'Em Up and Grill Out" at Jay and Julie Seitz's house. Same format as last year. Registration on Friday, 25th at 3:00-6:00 PM. Drive at 8:00 AM Saturday. Dinner both nights at 7:00 PM. The host hotel will be the Country Inn and Suites in Helen, GA. You must call to get the group rate of $99.00 per night. They have given us an across the board rate for any room they have. Some rooms have jacuzzis, some have fireplaces, or you can get two queens or king suite. Call 1-800-238-0767 and tell them you are with the ZSCCA CAR CLUB to get the rate. Queen City Cra-Z’s (Charlotte) Blue Ridge Parkway End-to-Ender You must be a card-carrying ZSCCA member to go on this drive! Eric Peck says: Here’s your chance to knock something off your bucket list! We’ll run south to north this time. The drive is setup with options so you can drive the entire itinerary, or run what you have time for. We’ll rendezvous in Cherokee, North Carolina on June 19th. The Cra-Z’s will leave the Charlotte area EARLY in the morning. If you arrive in Cherokee by lunchtime, you can join our pre-drive through the famous twisties of the area. The Parkway Drive will start Friday morning June 19th. Depending on the number of participants, we’ll split into groups. Friday will end near Marion, NC. Saturday will end near Roanoke, VA. Sunday will bring us to the end of the parkway near mid-day. This marks the end of the planned drive. Participants then have the option of returning Home, or continuing north on Skyline Drive. If someone would like to organize a Skyline Drive itinerary for Sunday/Monday- please let me know. Additional details and Hotel arrangements are To-be-announced. |
